General Discussion / May 2021 Match Epilogue
« on: May 09, 2021, 09:28:26 AM »
Howdy & Yeehaa ,

Sure was terrific to see so many cowboys & cowgirls attending the match. Several folks have been missing in action due to the Corona virus while others have had other medical issues that kept them away. Flatland Bob experienced complications after bypass surgery. With his better half Miss Lenore his side, Bob has endeavored to persevere and is doing well with hopes of shooting the June Outlaws match. Wasn't it great to see Anita Margarita, Jackalope, Mister Badly, Outlaw Sam Bass & Turkey Creek Vic after a years absence? OUR condolences go out to Critr on the loss of his wife Marlene. Last year they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Thanks to everyone who pitched in before, during & after the match. Congratulations to Ringer on shooting the only clean match & finishing Top Gun and to Anita Margarita the Top Lady shooter. Thanks again to y'all & I hope to see y'all at the June match.

Hasta Luego y Vaya con Dios, Keystone

General Discussion / April 10,2021 Match
« on: April 10, 2021, 06:00:52 PM »
Well,

Thirteen cowboys took a chance with a most ominous weather forecast. They were rewarded with a rain nonevent match. There was a light drizzle while tearing down the stages. We had a 1st time shooter, Rowdy Weasel. A few visitors came by to watch including TN Hawk. Thanks to all the shooters for a well run match & teardown.

General Discussion / Remember Slow Jen in your prayers
« on: April 08, 2021, 08:40:53 AM »
Posted by Hurricane Charly on the TMM website on April 4th:

Lot of friends have been asking  where Slow Jen  has been.
She had  been  having  stomach problems  for awhile, finally 3 weeks ago she went to the E.R after work on a Monday.
MRI showed a mass, referred  to a cancer doctor.
Two test and two weeks later we got the horrible news of positive for cancer.
She goes in this Thursday  to put in a port.
Hopefully  she will start chemo  the following week.
3 cycles every 21 days to shrink tumor.
Operation to remove, heal up then 3 more cycles of chemo.
We like to keep things too ourselves but we have  both  been blessed by this sport and the friends we have made we wanted folks to know and not wonder.
Thoughts and prayers  appreciated.

Charly & Jen are fine folks and I pray all goes well during the treatment & recovery. Keystone

General Discussion / No Reunion Match in April
« on: March 29, 2021, 06:09:21 AM »
Howdy Folks,

Once again the on going Covid issues will prevent having the Reunion Match in April. There's a possibility of doing something special later in the year pending improvement of Covid related health concerns and improved shooter attendance. We will still shoot a match in April and hope to see y'all.

General Discussion / Uberti 1866 Yellowboy Rifle saves Couple
« on: March 25, 2021, 09:09:09 AM »
In a scene that could have leapt from the pages of a Western, Texas native Bill Williams successfully defended himself and his wife from an intruding black bear. The bear initially appeared outside the couple's Colorado summer cabin in the evening, but as he seemed to be minding his own business, Mr. Williams thought best to leave him alone. He did load up his Uberti 1866 Yellowboy carbine however, simply as a precaution. In hindsight, its a good thing he did. The couple awoke with a start at 3:00 a.m. that same night, to the 250-pound animal breaking through the cabin window. Jumping up to investigate, Williams saw the bear on his couch less than four feet away. All told, Williams had to put eight rounds of .45 Long Colt into the black bear before it stopped moving. The couple credits keeping the rifle ready and close with saving their lives. They have since reinforced their door and barred the windows however, as an extra precaution. The Uberti, however, still resides by the bed.

General Discussion / Right to Keep & Bear Arms
« on: March 15, 2021, 01:26:20 PM »
Howdy Folks,

The new administration in the White House, Senate & House are bound and determined to erode and undermine the 2nd Amendment. There are several pro-2nd Amendment organizations that need support. I may not always agree with their rhetoric but their central message is in support of our rights guaranteed by the constitution. It would be of great benefit and a stick in the eye of 2nd Amendment opponents if a portion of each stimulus check was sent to Pro-Gun organizations.

General Discussion / March 2021 Match
« on: March 12, 2021, 02:50:55 PM »
Howdy,

I'll be on the range by 8am to make ready for the match. Although rain is in the forecast, it's doubtful we'll have a constant downpour. Who knows, maybe Mother Nature well take a liking to us cowboys and divert the precipitation.
