Hull in Shotgun while shooting another gun
« on: January 03, 2018, 09:19:13 AM »
This has been a hot discussion on the forum and apparently on some kind of social media.

Stage calls for 10/10/6+, pistols from two different positions, shotgun from 3 different positions. Order is rifle, shotgun, pistol, shotgun, pistol, three different positions.

shooter shoots rifle, grabs shotgun shoots two, moves to pistol with hull in shotgun, holds shotgun in one hand and shoots pistol, clears shotgun and shoots two targets from position 2, move to position 3 and finish stage. Shooter did not place his shotgun down when he shot the first pistol so long gun did not leave the shooters hand.

argument was the call on the hull in shotgun. Since the shooter did not lay the long gun down did he get the MSV. Answer is yes, here is Pale Wolf with the ROC clarification.

The shooter would get a MSV for "failure to CLEAR all rounds remaining in the long gun" before FIRING the next TYPE firearm of the stage...even though the long gun is not actually "discarded" until the end of the last SG shooting string (or at the ULT).
