General Discussion / Re: Request for assistance- H. S. graduate
« on: May 10, 2020, 04:34:23 PM »
Many thanks to any and all who responded to my request. (0(0(0(0)0)0)0) (my version of group hug)

I talked to Jaden this morning, and he has been receiving cards over the last couple of days. He was very excited about it, and sends his "thank you" to all of you, also.

General Discussion / Request for assistance- H. S. graduate
« on: May 04, 2020, 11:23:19 AM »
As with many of the school systems throughout the country, my youngest grandson's is closed. He didn't get to go to his prom, can't have a graduation party. Mother's Day weekend (May 10, this year- just a reminder) would have been his graduation ceremony, which also won't happen.

I thought and thought about what I could do to help celebrate from afar. One of my ideas is to ask my Cowboy community to help out.

I'm asking anyone who can to send a graduation card (which are very hard to find) or a congratulations card (which are easier to find).

This is absolutely NOT a request for gifts, monetary or otherwise, just a card.

If you would be willing to send a card, here is his name and address. Please include a blurb that you know his grandmother, Tammy, so he doesn't think cards are being sent out of the blue.

Jaden Fite
889 Van Buren Avenue
Cincinnati, OH 45215

If anyone else in the community has a graduate experiencing the same situation, please feel free to list on this thread, or start a new thread, so we can help out.

Thank you for reading my request, and thank you in advance if you are able to help with my project to brighten what would have been his graduation weekend.

General Discussion / RO1 class Dec. 3 at Ocoee Rangers
« on: November 19, 2016, 04:02:44 PM »
I would like to encourage any and all participants in our sport to attend RO1 class in Cleveland on Saturday, December 3.

If you have never taken an RO class, it is important that you attend- it will help in your understanding of the rules in SASS, as well as alerting you to firearm/ bullet/ powder/ clothing rules and prohibitions.

If you have ever seen a posse leader/ timer operator/ spotter make a call that left you puzzled as to the reasoning, it would be a good idea to attend.

Do you know there are 8 jobs on the posse that need to be filled every time a shooter comes to the loading table? Other than brass pickers, do you know what your obligations are with whatever job you may take or be assigned?

If you have attended RO2, and it has been more than a couple of years, you may need a refresher in RO1. There are rule changes and clarifications throughout the year that impact our sport every time we go out to play.

The members of Cleveland Hunting, Rifle, and Pistol Club (CHRPC) have a routinely scheduled work day the morning of Saturday, December 3.

So, rather than having this class in the morning, we will be starting at 1:00 in the CHRPC clubhouse.

Link to directions- http://ocoeerangers.com/?page_id=9

Class will last approximately 4- 4 1/2 hours.

Bring drinks/ snacks/ etc to accommodate your individual needs- the class goes straight through with only a very few breaks.

This class will be RO1 only.

Cost- $10.00.

If you have previously taken an RO1 class, you can audit this class at no charge.

We will finish up around dinner time. Cleveland is a lovely town, and there are plentiful shopping and dining options in town, or down the road in Chattanooga, if family/ friends wanted to accompany you.
