After all the trouble we've been having with some people not able to access the forum, I upgraded the forum software to a new version. When I did that, it caused problems with the old page layout, so I changed that too - to a more sophisticated one (code-wise). I am hoping this might possibly help with the issues. Please let me know if you are still having problems: anita_margarita@ymail.com

No problems here but I wasn't having them after the fix on the old one.
Don't care for this layout on the phone. Have to turn it sideways to read the text horizontally rather than vertically. :o
-
I am still experiencing issues with accessing the Forum Topics. I still have to back out and enter a 2nd time.

Go into your profile. Under Look and Layout, change to the Carbon theme.
-
I am still getting the same message but I have not rebooted my computer yet. Not sure about the gray box and white lettering but I am adaptable if nothing else.
-
Thanks tyrel.
You da man!
-
Yeah, Tombstone, I am not thrilled with some parts of it, but I was trying to find one quickly because the update seemed to cause problems with the old one, at least for me. I will continue to look for a better theme or try to modify the some bits of this one (like the dark box/white type).
Tyrel and Ringer, Carbon was the old theme. You may or may not have issues. I almost deleted it!

It works for me!
-
Not complaining at all. Love that you are the one working on this.
Thank you very much from the whole group.
-
@Anita, I understand. The Carbon Theme has been around a long time and probably not been updated. I'll poke around on SMF's theme site and see if I spot anything decent. If there's anything I can do to help just ask; although I haven't messed with SMF for a few years.
-
Tyrel, I updated SMF to 2.0.15 so I was specifically looking for a theme that was known to be compatible, hoping that it would help. It seems to have solved the login problem for at least one person and there is one other person I have not heard from yet.
Jim Mayo and Tombstone (and anyone else), are you still getting the mod_security Not Acceptable error? Mod_security has been disabled for both the website and the forum. You could try clearing your browser cache.

I'm logged in on my phone, but it won't let me log in on my laptop using Firefox.
-
Anita, I managed to get logged in on FireFox now. I had to go into settings and allow cookies for http://www.oakridgeoutlaws.org.
Everything I'm reading suggests this is a mod_security setting within Apache in your hosting account.
-
No problems here.
-
I am still getting the same error message but I have cookies disabled. I will go in and give Tyrel's suggestion a try.
-
I'll be very curious if enabling cookies for this site solves the problem.
If that is the case, anyone having problems can go into their browser settings and create an "exception" to their cookie restrictions for www.oakridgeoutlaws.org

No change for me.
-
The first time I tried to get in I got the same message about not allowing access. I tried a second time and was able to log on successfully.
Thank you very much

I didn't get the no access message today. Don't know of anything I did so hope the problem is fixed.
I like the new look to the web site.
-
Oh well back this morning. ???
Not Acceptable!
An appropriate representation of the requested resource could not be found on this server. This error was generated by Mod_Security.
-
When I click on the forum link, I have to backspace until I reach php on web address. Once I do that, everything works just fine. This was the way it was on the old format for the OR Forum, so no biggie for me.
It may be that this because I'm using Windows 7 and Google Chrome on this computer.
-
OK, I tried another modification. Maybe that will work....? Let me know
Mongo,
I also changed the link from the website to get rid of the "?wwwredirect" part. Does that help you?
I have one computer with Windows 10 and an up-to-date version of Chrome and one with Windows XPVista(!!!) and an old version of Chrome, plus an Android phone and I cannot make it give me these error messages on any of them.

Not acceptable
Have to back out and come back in.
Worse for me.
-
It did change, but not for the better. Now I have get the Not Acceptable as soon as I try to go to the forum. It used to let me at least look at the topics and see if I wanted to look at them before I got that message.
It may not like FireFox
-
The redirect is still there when I click on the forum. I'm not complaining, just letting you know. I know how to get in so it's really not an issue for me.
-
Well, from iPhone, no problem. However, from my laptop, not so good. Normal OP, log on to the website then click on Form tab and get message, back to homepage, click on Forum and page opens.
-
Getting worse for me. :(
Harder and harder to get in.
-
Keystone,
OK, I can make it give me the same message if I do that. That is something concrete I can talk to the hosting service about.
Ringer,
How is it getting worse? Do you have the same issue as Keystone or something different? What actions (buttons clicked, etc) have you taken that result in the message?

-
When I go to our forum, oakridgeoutlaws.com, I get the not accepted message. I hit the back button and then go back to the Oakridgeoutlaw.com I get in. I think that is probably what Ringer is getting.
I will be glad to bring my computer with me tomorrow if that would help you see what we are getting.
-
Now I do see that message when I am on the oakridgeoutlaws.org website and click on the button for Forum. Is that the same issue that everyone has? Wondering if Ringer has a different issue?
-
Now I am getting the no access message...……………….
Not really a problem, I get in the second try.
-
Well, once I have gotten to the Form page, then save it as a Favorite, I can go directly to the Form page from my Favorites without logging onto the website.
-
I may have fixed it now. At least it doesn't do it for me anymore.

Seems to work so far! ;D
-
Well, seems to be working AOK. Opened the homepage, then Forum, then this topic just fine.
Thanks much, Keystone
-
Seems OK today!
-
It worked, thanks for all the effort and work to keep us informed
-
Thanks for your patience! I took me a while, but I learned a lot in the process.

Working for me also. Restarted computer just to be sure. :)
-
Anita,
Thanks for sticking with it.
-
Yep! You must have fixed it. My forum stuff popped right up. Good job!
-
Yeehaa,
A whole week and no problems. Thanks Anita for managing the website.
Muchas Gracias,
Keystone

Good job!!!

No more problems to get on the forum for me :)
