I am wanting to load .38 spcl loads for revolvers only. I have plenty of Trail Boss and 1000 124 gn bullets.
Any thoughts or advice on combining these to go bang appreciated.
Cowboy action use only.

Howdy,
Checked the Hodgdon website for Trailboss; the starting load is 3.0gr with a maximum load of 5.0gr for a 38 special with 125gr bullet. I haven't used Trail Boss in 38 special so I can't make a specific recommendation.

Thank you Keystone.

Carver,
Sent you a PM

I like about 3.2 gr of Trail Boss in this load.
-
And you still have room for the bullet? :D

Don't be hating on my .38s! Not everyone can be a real man like you and Jackalope.

3.2 grains of trailboss is what I have used for 6 years.
I use it for 105s 125s and even my 158 knock downs.
No complaints.

Thank you for the great responses. I loaded up a few samples with a couple of different powders that SWMBO shot with her brand new irons today.
She was pleased and, so, we are good to go for "a while."
(Even with TrailBoss, there was a wee little bit of room inside the case for a bollet.)

1 extra advantage with trail boss is that if you don't have a powder checker it's pretty easy to check the apps. Level at of the corner of you're eye.
