Howdy Folks,

The Marshal Andy telethon will be held on October 1st from 10:30-12:30. We answer the phones & take pledges to support the Riders of the Silver Screen & Marshal Andy broadcast. A breakfast will be provided before the show. Arrive at the studio (1611 E. Magnolia Ave, Knoxville) around 9am. Let us know if you plan to help answer the phones. Thanks much for your support.

Visitation will be held at Steven's Mortuary, 1304 Oglewood Ave, just off North Broadway from 1-2pm on Sunday Aug. 21st. Service will be conducted following visitation. Graveside will be on Monday Aug. 22nd at Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 Adair Drive, at 11am. Cowboy attire is welcomed.

I'm saddened to report that my good friend TN Hawk passed away this morning. His health has been in decline for several years. He now sits around the campfire with Preacher Red, Tn Crittr & Lightning McCoy. God rest his soul.

General Discussion / 2021 UPS & DOWNS

Howdy Pards & Pardetts,

No doubt 2021 was a year most of us would prefer not to repeat. We ended 2020 with the passing of Preacher Red (12-15-20) and began 2021 with the loss of Lightning McCoy (01-02-21). Along the way Rounder (04-12-21) & Papa Dave (09-20-21) joined the heavenly posse followed by TN Critr (12-24-21) ending 2021.We shall indeed miss all these folks. Vaya con Dios Amigos.

The Covid infection & limited shooting/reloading supplies hampered many shooters from participating in matches. However, we still managed to shoot 19 matches with 326 scored shooters. Several new names appeared on the score sheets. Some were new shooters & others were just new to the Outlaw matches. As best as I can figure the new & new to us were: Bogus Jim, Colonel Lefty, Dangerous Dago, Denny the Kid, Fox Creek Stitcher, Fretless, Granny Oakely, Indy Outlaw, JD Packis, John Kloeur, Napa Belle, Napa Sidewinder, Oso Grande, Popcorn Jim, Rowdy Weasel, Runs with Rattlesnake & Stovepipe Steve. Thanks for shooting with the Outlaws & we hope to see y'all throughout 2022.

Conducting Outlaw matches during 2021 needed support and by golly we got it. The setup posse showed up in strength every month with the usual suspects, Long Gulch, Long Wolf, Mister Badly & Uncle Ethan with assists from Horse Doc, Tio Don, Rowdy Weasel & Tearing up Jake. Anita & Jackalope kept us supplied with interesting and varying scenarios for both the Tuesday & Saturday matches, "And that's what started the gunfight". They also handled the scoring with the match report and maintained the website, muchas gracias. Thanks to Long Gulch for leading the Tuesday matches.

I appreciate the effort clubs 2021 officers; Anita, Jackalope, Steely & Tombstone to keep us on track & functioning though the Ups & Dows of 2021. They will all be serving again in 2022. Uncle Ethan will be the Outlaws Ramrod for 2022 (and maybe more  ). Thanks to everyone for your support & attendance during the Ups & Downs this year. Hope to see y'all in 2022.

General Discussion / "UPDATE:12-27" Prayers for Two Elder Cowboys

Howdy Pards,

TN Hawk & TN Critr are both in the hospital. Hawk has been on a slow decline with aging issues and had a fall on Friday. No broken bones but a slight head injury. Critr has been receiving chemotherapy and has unfortunately contracted Covid with the complication of pneumonia. Keep these two pards in your prayers.

General Discussion / Sunday Outlaws Match

Wee Doggy,

Turned out to be a decent day to shoot. Definitely an improvement over Saturday. It was a pleasure to meet Fretless & his lady Fox Creek Stitcher. The folks from Greene County Regulators showed up in mass. Besides Fretless & Stitcher, there was Cumberland Mtn. John, Jim Powder, Lil' Weasel, Napa Belle & Napa Sidewinder. Much to my surprise & pleasure, Yohan & Barkeep Casey trekked north to join in the fun. Of course, there were us local yokels, Loco Joe, Long Wolf, Mister Badly, Rico Suave, Steely I. Justice, Uncle Ethan & me own self (Keystone). After a long day on the range 11 hungry & thirsty cowboys & cowgirls headed to Zandunga Mexican Restaurant for fellowship & comfort. My thanks to all who shot with us and worked to keep the match moving along. Oh yeah, a prospective shooter followed along the entire match & thanks to Barkeep for outfitting him to shoot a stage. I think AJ will be back.

General Discussion / Cowboy Clothes from Lightning McCoy

Howdy Pards,

Miss Dee Lightning is giving her husband's clothing as a free gift to anyone who can use them. There are shirts, pants, vests, boots and some miscellaneous items. The pants range in size from 40-44 (mostly 42). The vests & shirts are probably XXL. Included are a brown oil skin duster and mustard colored raincoat. I will bring these items to the November & December matches.
