General Discussion / Free Electric Mower
« on: February 03, 2022, 01:01:04 PM »
My son has a year-old Greenworks electric mower that he is giving away.  It worked great for his grass in S. Carolina, but his new yard in Chattanooga has a much thicker variety grass and the electric mower didn't function well.

It will need a new battery, or someone with the technical ability to "jump" the old battery off.  He ran down the charge so much that the charger would not recharge the battery.  He found information on-line that explained how to open the battery case and get enough of a charge in it to allow the use of a battery charger.  He wasn't willing to fool with it and bought a large gas engine mower instead.  A new battery is available from stores, or the company, but they are not cheap.

These are expensive mowers.  I have the 80 volt version and it works great for a front yard.  Kitty Kat likes it because it is lighter than a gas mower.  I have a gas mower for our large backyard jungle.

If you are interested, contact me.  I can also text you a picture.

Tombstone,

I would love to have a single antler, or a miss-matched pair.  I use the tines on the antlers to make boning tools for leather work.

You could give it/them to Lucy and Cinch for transport to the next Cleveland shoot.

Thanks!

Beer bets with friends was always an appealing reason to attend Oak Ridge matches  ;)

Video of the event could have won you big bucks on America's funniest videos (glad that the only injury was your pride).

Early this week I "winterized" a lawn mower and my small generator.  I added some Sta-Bil to the gas can and proceeded to run both machines.  The mower project went off without a hitch.  I was not so lucky with the generator, however.

I filled half of a Solo cup with gas and headed up the carpeted stairs inside the house to pour the gas into the generator located on the deck upstairs.  Half-way up the stairs, the bottom of the Solo cup was melted by the gas and poured onto the carpeted stairs.  Kitty Kat was none to pleased when she came home later that afternoon.  Who doesn't like the smell of gasoline in the house?  The smell is getting better, but the verbal abuse from my spouse hasn't subsided much. :o

I don't have a "dog in this hunt" because I haven't been shooting with you guys recently, but I think it would be a nice gesture if some of you retired Oak Ridge Outlaws members would offer to go over to Critr's house and help him box up his remaining stuff to help him get his house on the market. Kitty Kat and I have just been through this getting her mom's house sold.  It's a daunting task, even with family and friends helping.

A club member with a little storage room could hold Critr's excess shooting stuff for a short time until it could be displayed as a shooting equipment "yard sale" at an upcoming Oak Ridge shoot.   The proceeds could go to facilitate his move, or an organization, or cause, of his choice.

In official cowboy jargon, are you two "saddle tramps" for awhile? ;)
