Round on Carrier of long gun
(1/1)
Tombstone:
Interesting thing happened to me today. I had a round left on the carrier which would have resulted in a minor safety violation, however, my lever was slightly closed and had pushed the lead tip of my bullet into the chamber, maybe a qtr inch. This actually resulted in a Stage DQ since the nose of the bullet was in the chamber.
If any part of a live round is in the chamber of a long gun it is considered in the chamber. Thus a cocked and loaded long gun left the shooters hand.
A hard call to make but it was the right call. I only have myself to blame since I lost count and only shot 9 rounds to began with.
Anita Margarita:
Tombstone,
This is really a painful call as there is such a huge penalty difference between "on the carrier" and "in the chamber" and all it takes to move it into the chamber is to tip the gun muzzle a little down when setting the gun down. Ouch.
