« on: July 13, 2021, 07:49:49 AM »
Does anyone recall the name and address of the shooter's supply store in Gamaliel, KY?   I recall several years ago cowboys were getting black powder from this location but I can't recall the name of the store. Any Help is appreciated.

General Discussion / Reloading Shotgun Shells (Advice)
« on: April 14, 2021, 05:55:32 AM »
I've begun the process of reloading shotgun shells (well I've ordered a Lee Load-All 2 Shotshell Press)
Now, for the advice part...what else do I need?
Primers...recommended brand and sources to purchase
Powder...I have TrailBoss and planned to use that
Wads...recommended brand/style and sources to purchase
Lead Shot...ditto as Primers and Wads
Hulls...find em where I can as I have some to recycle.  Are there some that are better than others??
What else would be helpful/useful?

I've received a duplicate shipment of bullets from Donny Summers.  Before I return them was wondering if any cowboys need them. Figured Donny would rather have money then the lead back.  So if you are interested let me know call or (better) text me at 865-604-2325

Have on hand;   45cal 200 grain RNFP in 500rd box     total 1000rds on hand
38cal 158grain  RNFP in 500rd box     total 1000rds on hand
Seeking $35.00 for each box.
I'm willing to hand deliver within a reasonable distance.

General Discussion / Building a "Backyard" range
« on: March 31, 2020, 07:59:17 AM »
Considering the Government guidelines may/will curtail shooting matches; it leaves one's mind to a wandering.  If I where to build a "backyard" range what are the requirements?   How wide; how long (deep); how tall to make the berms; erosion controls; equipment required; amenities...the list goes on.  So Cowboys and Cowwomen what say you?

For them that are New to our hobby (and for someone who has been unconscious for five weeks and haven't shot in over a year) could we be enlightened as to Shooter Categories.   What they mean; what's required to shot in each category; etc      Thanks in advance,

General Discussion / 357 Mag reloaders
« on: October 04, 2019, 01:46:05 PM »
Hello to reloaders!
Recently attempted reloads of 357 Mag
                     5.9 grains Bullseye powder
                     158 grain lead RNFP
                     Winchester Large pistol primer
At 7 yards several of the paper punches were enlongated as if the bullet had entered sideways. Thoughts?  Considering different powder, or increase # grains of powder, or do I need Mag primers?  Oh these were fired from six inch barrel pistol.

General Discussion / Upgrade My Holsters
« on: April 14, 2018, 08:44:30 PM »
I've decided I want/need to upgrade my holsters for my Ruger Varqureo Old Model. I'm asking for recommendations on holsters that are stiff enough to remain "open" when the pistol is removed. What say you?!?

General Discussion / X-Calibers Bullets Are they still in business?
« on: March 19, 2017, 11:09:50 AM »
Hello around the fire; it's time for resupply of lead and I've used X-Calibers in the past but the website seems to be gone. Are they still in business?  If not who is the favored bullet supplier now. Thanks in advance for the input.
