I predict...
1. Weather in the mid-sixties and sunshine.
2. A big turn out.
3. Lots of movement and props.
4. Bad Luck Bob (from April 2016 Old School Match) is making an appearance...and he's bringing a friend.
5. One stage will have a two-round rifle reload. Bring extra bullets!
6. We won't even need to leave the range for post-match bragging.

If you don't mind me asking, can the 2 extra rifle rounds be loaded at any time? If not, we may bring a Marlin just for that stage.
Free Amber Dos Equis?? ;D
-
If you read the SASS forum you would know his diabolical plans.
-
Mongo,
After your first ten rifle shots on that stage, feel free to take all the time you need to load two more.
;D
-
Man up and shoot your 73. Bringing a rifle just for a reload, I mean, come on.
My prediction is.....
I'm gonna be there and give Jackalope and Tombstone a hard time.
Plus, I get to see Last Kiss I think!!
Oh yeah, I'm shooting FCGF and I'm gonna make MY HERO work hard to beat me.
-
Don't Judge me Judge 8) 5 seconds is 5 seconds.
-
I predict I will keep my big mouth shut when the wagering starts. Dont want to be a beer boy again this year.
-
No judgement Mongo.
Just put your big boy pants on and get it done!
Now, maybe Kat should shoot the Marlin. I can live with that, no need to break a nail.
But go ahead and join the wife Mongolina.
-
I also predict...
7) Every one of my cartridges will have at least 35 grains of FFFg powder.
8) I will wear big-boy pants.
-
I won't be wearing "big boy' pants, but I will still be shooting my '73. ;)

p.s. Bob's "friend" is standing in our basement and scares the crap out of me every time I open the door. Good thing I am not armed.
-
Somebody has to stir the pot.
-
Sadly, I own nothing but "big boy" pants :(
I'm going to try to get some .38 LC loaded with 105s. Those rounds can be loaded over the top in my 73.
Judge, Miss Kitty Kat would like you to know that she hates Marlins. The first time she shot the one that I bought for her, it put a hole almost all the way through her trigger finger. I cannot repeat exactly the words that came out of her mouth at that time. Widow now owns that Marlin, and she has her own Cody 73.
-
Hey Mongo,
Too bad you couldn't shoot Tuesdays match as the starting lines were from Blazing Saddles.
Free Amber Dos Equis?? But Jackalope told me the only beer we need is Miller Lite.

How can you wear "Big Boy" pants and shoot 38's with a 105gr bullet?
Hasta Luego, Keystone
-
Keystone, my normal .38 Special with a 158 gr. slug will not load over the top on a 73. The round is too long. The shorter .38 LC case with a short slug will work loading over the top rather than using the loading port.
The few times I have used that small round on a rifle reload, it sounds like I have a suppressor on my 73.
-
Because of merciless harassment by people I consider friends, I pulled my .357 73 and messed around with loading over top. The technique that I thought worked flawlessly in the past only led to a locked-up rifle.
After experimenting with several techniques and bullet lengths, I think I've hit upon something that will work reliably. Without Judge and Keystone picking on me, I would have never figured this out. Thank you gentlemen!
-
Some more predictions...
Bad Luck Bob will be in trouble on Stage 1.
Your secret stash of bullets will come in handy during Stage 2.
The family will offer a reward if you rescue the baby from kidnappers on Stage 3.
Although he's a pretty good guy, Pete will not be of much help during a holdup on Stage 4.
The gophers will come back, no matter what you do on Stage 5.
-
I can't help it.....In big boy pants, does tall mean big or does wide mean big?
F.H.

Mongo, I load through the loading gate with my left hand. Cant the rifle left so I can see the loading gate and it works fine and I don't have the problems of locking up the rifle like I did if I didn't do an over the top right.

Harley, I just seem to get bigger horizontally, not vertically.
Randy, I'll try that with some dummy rounds tonight.
-
I would normally reload in the top, but in this situation where we need to load 2 rounds, I think I will put them in the loading gate. "Over the top" is just too many moving parts for it to be worth doing twice .. for me anyway.

By the way, the rules for when you get a penalty for your rifle being "unsafe to leave your hands," has changed, according to Pale Wolf Brunelle. It certainly makes the reloading easier, but there are still actions that you cannot perform, like decocking.
Here is a thread on the SASS Wire where Jackalope asks about the rules/penalties (as they used to be) and Pale Wolf (in his second answer, post #8) clarifies that the rules are now different as to when a penalty applies:

I predict: That Keystone will get his wish that there will be a Pecan Pie on the dessert table.
-
Yeehaa,
Oh, how I love PECAN PIE, yummmm!
Muchas Gracias, Amigo
