There I was, fast asleep in the early morning, when I had the most vivid dream that I was back in San Francisco.

Just happened to be awake so I got the full effect. Seemed to start low, then intensify.
Didn't upset anything, here, but did rattle windows. Second largest ever in E Tennessee,
they say, at 4.4, centered near Decatur.

I'd say you are OK Keystone.  If the stores run out come to my place, I can sell you vittles at "special" prices.  :)

Here in NE Roane it did wake us up however we heard it, but did not feel anything.  Never knowingly been in an earthquake before, quite exciting.

My cat must be a dud - slept through it as did the dogs.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was fairly close to us in Ten Mile.  It shook hard enough for us to both jump out of bed.  The cats were way ahead of us. I thought the house was falling down the hill or something.

I have felt a lot of earthquakes before but was completely unprepared to experience one here.

If I recall correctly from my TVA days, a fault line is on the Knoxville, north, side of the Tennessee River. We were told this is why Watts Bar NP was built on the Chattanooga, south, side.

I just so happened to be awake that morning.
About 4.10 ish or so it sounded like the heat pump was going out and someone was backing in our drive with a semi.
I live in north ga.
I was up it woke Slow Jen up she sleeps pretty soundly!
