General Discussion / Saturdays match
« on: August 10, 2023, 01:10:13 PM »
Well the range is open with improvments. Ledges on bay 3 & 5 buildings have been replaced. Still some gravel for the road needs to be spread out, hopefully Friday.
Looks like only a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday and a little warm.

Lil' Weasel will have The Ringer Celebration of Life book for signing and maybe adding a story about our departed Pardner. The book will be given to his wife after everyone has had a chance to sign it.

We do have the new double star for a bonus stage. Looks like it will be a lot of fun to shòot.
Hope you can make it.

General Discussion / Red Flag Law Scam
« on: June 30, 2023, 08:21:34 PM »
I got this email from Tennessee Gun Owners today. Looks like some low life is they to scam gun owners over the red flag law legislation.
Before you give any money, make sure it's legitimate.
Hi greenego,

greenego,

This email is to make you aware of the fact that an organization based out of Ohio has initiated a fear-based money grabbing campaign in the state of Tennessee, under the auspices of resisting Governor Bill Lee's Red Flag laws, and is misleading the public by using the Tennessee Gun Owners name as their own.

We take offense at this and are investigating our legal options for shutting that entity down.  In the meantime, please understand that TGO is not a lobbying organization and has never advertised itself as such.  Any email or letter that you receive from someone purporting to be "Tennessee Gun Owners" and asking you to financially support their activism efforts is not us.  They do not represent us, and we absolutely do not endorse them.

John Harris, executive director at the Tennessee Firearms Association summarized the activities of these carpetbaggers best:

Quote
On April 19, 2023, shortly after Gov. Lee publicly demanded a Red Flag law, a new entity was formed in Tennessee under the name "Tennessee Gun Owners" - see Secretary of State's Business Search.   This entity has a mailing address on 12th Avenue South in Nashville which appears to be a private mail box at a UPS store.  This entity is sending out mailers asking for money to fight the Red Flag issue and directs people to mail them your credit card number in care of "Chris Dorr".   The recent formation by Dorr of a Tennessee entity appears similar to other organizations set up in other states that some reports also link to Chris Dorr or others in his family.

General Discussion / primers
« on: February 16, 2023, 09:48:12 AM »
Natchezss has primers in stock. Federal small and large pistol. Price is around $117 to $118 per 1000. High price but better than $150. I purchased small pistol primers and was going to offer them to those in need at my cost. I was wondering about large pistol primers. I don't use them, but if enough cowpokes are interested, I will order some and resell at cost. Free shipping until the 20th so let me know.

General Discussion / cowboy down
« on: February 05, 2023, 06:13:14 PM »
Well looks like we have another pardner on the injury reserve posse. Longshot Luther was injured while cutting a tree down. Apparently it fell before it was suppose to and broke his ankle. Says he will know in a week or so if it will require surgery. He hopes to be back smoken the range up in 10 to 12 weeks. Keep him in your prayers and hoping for a full recovery.
