I got word from Major Kettle Hill that his wife suffered a heart attack on March 22nd. He said she is recovering, but looks like it's going to be a long road.
Prayers from his cowboy family would be greatly appreciated.

A few brave cowboys showed but it was decided with the wind chill, we would just shoot a stage or two and call it quits. So no official match. Thanks to all who did come out and put up the targets.
Hopefully February's weather will be more agreeable.

General Discussion / Rule change no. 3

Really have not seen this in our area but I know it has come up in other areas. Removing this rule will pretty much allow any lever wrap as long as it is leather or fake leather. I have know some folks with hands so large they have a tight fit without any wrap. I am not sure if this makes a difference or not. Doesn't really matter to me and one less thing I am supposed to look at when the shooter approaches the line.

 This one will bring the Shotgun in line with the rifle. Right now if a shooter left the loading table with a cocked rifle he is OK as long as there is not a round in the chamber, if the shotgun closed for some reason the shooter must stop and open the SG before they take a step or they get a SDQ

(verification for rifles- same as for movement from the LT...for shotguns, simply open the action to verify.) This will remove some the responsibility from the TO to catch the cocked rifle before it leaves the shooters hand. It will also make it a little more even in case one TO caught a cocked hammer and another one did not.

Well the weather isn't looking too bad on Tuesday for this time of year. No rain. Lows Monday night in the mid 30s
and high Tuesday in mid 50s.
Unfortunately our Pardner Long Gulch is a little under the weather with the old COVID bug.
Hopefully he will recover quickly and be bank with us next year.
That said, the shoot must go on.
$10..00 match fee. 16 and under free.
Signup begins at 8:30. Safety meeting at 9:30

At last nights AP meeting I was asked to call off our night match. Bryl, AP chief, wants to try this first before we do. Concerned about safety He was talking about installing some lighting on several of the bays.
Could have something by Dec. Just have to wait and see.

The event was a tribute to Marshal Andy at the PBS studios in Knoxville.
