New Years' Resolutions Anyone ?
« on: December 18, 2021, 07:14:23 PM »
There are a lot of things I would like to resolve to do right now, i.e., travel, go to concerts, go to a theatre, and much more.
Probably not a good idea.....
So, I'll take a look at my Cowboy shooting.
My first three years I shot mostly Duelist and Classic Cowboy. For about the next eight years I mostly shot Gunfighter. Then,
the last seven or so, Outlaw. I like to shoot clean when I can, and I like to place well when I can, however, I think I would
resolve to try just to enjoy the comradery we have left to us, and have fun. More like Loose Cinch. Meaning visit other categories,
shoot guns I usually don't, Long Gulch will agree I don't shoot enough black powder. Wear a lot of my clothes that are not black...
Well, that might be going too far.
I would desire to include shooting many more matches, but shortages still exist and many more other factors.
Harley.
PS- If you have resolutions of any kind post here so we can all enjoy and have conversation.....

Howdy Harley,

I've never been one for resolutions. However, it's worthwhile to occasionally assess & reflect on personal circumstances & desires. So, in the spirit of new year resolutions for 2022:

Shoot more & miss less, eat better & weigh less, enjoy life & stress less and be happy & worry less.

I'm not ready to commit to any New Year's resolutions just yet.  I still haven't come to grips with what happened last year.

On December 31st, 2020, I decided to give up beer for the month of January.  I'm not entirely sure why, but I haven't had a beer all year.  I might have one next year.

For now, my New Year's resolution is to remain cautious about making New Year's resolutions.

Not drinking for the first month is actually a thing, called Dry January. It started in Europe, then spread here
as a way to detox after the holidays. Was popular, but not so much during the pandemic I think.
I did it in Jan. '19, and '20, but fell of the wagon afterwards. There is also Sober October, never got all the way
through that one.
Good luck with holding on to the wagon, Jackalope.
Harley.
Oh wait, you said "beer," not drinking...

Yeah, I did not get all the way on the wagon.  I didn't pass up the occasional glass of red wine with dinner.  Also, when it got hot last summer, it was time for cheap tequila margaritas.  Had been planning to help Joe and all empty the beer keg at Black Gold, but we couldn't get there.

I think my resolution for 2022 is to keep my options open.

i can't remember ever making New Years' Resolutions. Guess it means I
never felt the need to change something. I could make a list, but would
never stick to them and by July would have forgotten most of them.
With that said, guess I resolve to be the same as last year and if something
changes, so be it.  ;)

Beer bets with friends was always an appealing reason to attend Oak Ridge matches  ;)
