Today I was blessed and honored to be able to shake my father's hand, (at nearly ninety years old,)
and wish him a happy Veterans Day. (WWII.)

Thanks, Jackalope ( and AM.) Thanks for the kind words, Keystone.
Thought I had better put this on about the November match.
If you choose to shoot the pistol, (reload) bonus it is 50 +1 pistol.
50 rifle.
Best case scenario for shotgun: 18. Worst case shotgun: a lot more.

Thanks, all.
Don't know what got me to think about it but the line on stage 1 is, "It's time to pay the piper!"

General Discussion / Oak Ridge Outlaws November Preview
« on: November 04, 2015, 06:32:54 PM »
Well here it is, the grand finale. I have been proud to serve SMSS, ORSA Cowboys, and OR Outlaws for eight
years in charge of range affairs, and one year as assistant to El Carerra, (who taught me much about distance
and angle, why layout matters.)
All this is nothing compared to the years T- Bone Angus, and Horseshoe John (with set up) have given, but I
digress. Due to family issues, and other factors I must back off for a while, at least. I will still write occasionally,
I couldn't quit altogether.
Here is a preview of November's match. Stories and lines by Trapper John. Target orders by myself, and two
suggested by Whiskey Hayes from the State match. Hope to see a good turnout.
Stage 1- Make Mine a Double
Shotgun at average distance but more precise than usual. FAIR WARNING! One long range rifle shot, (It's a
turkey shoot.)
Stage 2- Bad Blood
FAIR WARNING! Four rifle Knockdowns.
Stage 3- There's Norway to Tell
Target order suggested by Whiskey Hayes.
Stage 4- A Whole Bunch of Trouble
Also suggested by Whiskey Hayes, but the five Shotgun targets was my idea.
Stage 5- Suicide Blonde
We'll just call it the "egg."
Down range movement, making long guns safe.
Time will be recorded, THEN the shooter has the option to reload one round in a pistol, (off the clock,) at the
direction of the T.O. for a possible, but not guaranteed bonus.
I wanted to do things a little bit different for this one, but nothing too overboard. This match is for ME!
Harley.

Many of our pards are heading to the big one, Bordertown, soon.
Many more are planning on going, next year.
So, how about lots of reports from Tombstone, AZ.?
Safe travels. Wish I could be there with you.

Branchwater Jack has posted the State champions list on the Ocoee Rangers forum.
Congrats to the winners.
Harley.
PS - Anita, have you seen the video by Dirty Nerdy on the Wartrace website? It would be a nice one
to link to the Outlaws, in my opinion. www.wartraceregulators.com/
(I don't mean the motion picture excerpt that this years match was based upon.)

General Discussion / Tenn. State Report
« on: October 11, 2015, 03:57:27 PM »
The Wartrace Regulators put on another well written, interesting, and well organized State Match.
The key to their success is hospitality. They are a friendly group. Thanks to all who had a hand in
this year's event.
Many of our locals stayed in various campgrounds, (heard that some had damage from Friday night's
storms.) Don't know any details.
Several of us stayed in a nice hotel in Manchester and had a good time, there.
Many trips to Bell Buckle Café, as usual, and they also have a new banquet facility which was used for
awards dinner. Seating was adequate and food was really good.
No rain on the match, weather near perfect. Some of our shooters did well, others like myself, not so
much. The stages were quite good so no fault there.
Some folks just seemed to be under a hoodoo, somehow. (Weird mechanical failures, and lots of brain
fades, etc.)
Looking forward to lots of Wartrace matches in the future.
Harley.
PS -Lots of us "cut the rope" with rifles on Thursday. Last Kiss was the only one to do it with the first shot
with a pistol!
