Title: After the shoot
Post by: Tombstone on May 11, 2016, 09:12:04 PM
Stages are set, weather is looking great at the moment, now lets talk about what is really important. Where to go after the match.

I visited a new restaurant today in Oak Ridge, it is in the same building as Lincolns, new owners, managers, menu, even a new theme, (see if you can guess what it is.) Anyway, I talked to the manager and told her we were looking for a place where we could socialize, drink a little and eat a little. She offered us the game room which has 8 or 9 tables, couches, bar with stools along one wall, pool table, fooze ball table, a couple of servers and a guarantee our beverage needs would be filled.

I make a motion we give Swifty's Atomic Bar and Grill a try and see what we think. Here is the webpage, I understand Doc and Honey along with Cactus have eaten here already. Great beer selection for Mongo.

See everyone on Saturday

I second that emotion! Thanks for bringing this up. I've had so much going on with the home front, I
forgot to mention this. I read about the change of owners several weeks ago.

Sure, I'm up to giving them a try.

Sure is looking good for tomorrow for the Oak Ridge Outlaws match. Hope everyone can make it.

I have not seen the targets yet but I am wondering how many misses Jackalope will spot me tomorrow. He gave up 8 on Tuesday and still managed to win. Spot me 8 and I will probably miss 10.

These beer bets are getting more serious than the "Paddle of Shame" competition.

Only if you are the one buying for the last few months. I am sure he will claim I should spot him a few since he shoots the unholy black but with a 17 mph wind tomorrow dont know if smoke will help or the high winds.

Yeah, I dunno...

Seems like Saturday's match was made for outlaw shooters.  Us poor black powder folks will be hurting, for sure.  With all that wind to contend with, I reckon Tombstone's sense of fair play will lead him do the right thing and spot me a miss a stage, with maybe two extras on the match.

That seems about right.

I was about to give in to your unreasonable demands/requests but found out Whiskey Creek is coming down so the advantage is back to you. I guess we will just have to go heads up again.

Mongo, the Beer Battle is much better than the "paddle of shame" we just need more payers, I mean Players.

I'd enter the fray, but I'm afraid Jackalope would be kicking my a$$ also.

The question is: Do I feel like a huckleberry? Tomorrow shall reveal.

In a few weeks I want to play.

Y'all might have to spot mea a few misses early on and still beat me.

But I promise Jackalope is starting to train for the rematches.

Goodness, I miss shooting with y'all! !!

Well,

I vote for giving Swifty's another visit next month. The food was darn good.

I thought they did a good job and they really tired hard. I too think we should give them another go next month. I will make sure they have their liquor license by then.

I liked my food (fish tacos).  I think they were trying pretty hard to keep us happy.

I liked the place.  Honestly, they were a little slow getting the beer there at first. But, they did try.

Here's my take on it. The whole idea is to relax after a hard days shooting, wind down from the adrenaline rush,
sing the blues about how you shot, etc.
So.....why does it really matter if the food is a little slow if it arrives piping hot, (it was,) and it's very good when it
gets there?
I think maybe if we gave what they called the "club house" a chance it could be just that.

I think we should give Swifty's Atomic Grill another try, I will run by tomorrow and let them know this is our Saturday and make sure they have the servers they will need for us.

It's a nice venue, the food was good, and they did try hard.

I just looked at the forecast for Saturday.  It's going to be blazing hot out.  We'll definitely have to "rehydrate" at the closest place possible. ;D

Lets give the Atomic Bar another go. I have let them know we will be there and they do have liquor now so may be a little more better.

I think this has now become the official outlaw clubhouse.
